Amarante

Situated on the Amarante Hill at 600 meters above sea level you would expect this course to be almost mountainous but the Designer Jorge Santana da Silva carefully managed the slope to make the landscape undulating rather than hilly.

As well as the gradient, this course is distinctive for its small rolling greens which mean that few of your putts will be straightforward.

The local landscape is rugged with the Marão and Aboboreira mountains visible from the course as well as some beautifully sculpted waterfalls which enhance the courses hazards.

The area is famous for its Port wine heritage and in the area there are plenty of excellent wine estates which are renowned for their gastronomy as well as their beverages.
