Ponte de Lima

The Axis Golfe Ponte de Lima is a traditional countryside course that gives brilliant views over the Lima valley and real contact with the Minho countryside.

Being a little way inland makes the area a little more sheltered, this protection from the Atlantic wind makes the golf challenging but not frustrating. The front 9 is quite undulating and would not feel out of place on a mountain course while the back 9 is quite different, being mostly flat.

The third hole has got to be a competitor for one of the longest in northern Portugal - at over 600 meters from the longer tees.

The clubhouse is also unusual being a converted manor house; it’s worth a visit just for the excellent food which is served throughout the day.
