Golf Portugal can reveal that golf is strengthening its innate sense and global appeal to be played in Olympic Games 2016 as reported by Ty Votaw, PGA Tour Executive. The major decision will be taken by IOC (the international Olympic committee) in the month of October whether to incorporate the game into the program and golf is competing with Karate, Squash, baseball, softball, roller sport and rugby.
In the words of Votaw, “We really feel great about our game exemplifies in the form of its commercial appeal, universality, its media impact and personality of our golfers and other individuals who play golf throughout the world”.
“We are also of the opinion that esteem of golf in terms of sportsmanship and integrity and honour absolutely go consistent with Olympic deal. So, we have all those things that make a very appealing candidate to be included in Olympic Games”.
