Golf Portugal news reports: Irish elite golfer Padraig Harrington has shot into fame over the last few years after winning 3 of the last six majors. With the absence of the world’s number one from the pro golf scene for some time now, it seems to be giving many other players a time to shine and come forward as excelling golfers.
Harrington, 37 from Dublin in Ireland hopes that his rivals will see him in a new light and that to obtain the vote of approval from his peers would mean a lot to him.
He landed his first major win at the British open in 2007 where like many other players, took advantage of the absence of Tiger Woods later in the year to win yet another two majors. With a successful defence of his British title at Royal Birkdale, he amazed followers with a clear four shot ahead win. He also was awarded the PGA Player of the Year award, an outstanding achievement for the proud Irishman.
