Atlanta, Lanny Wadkins, a renowned American Golfer and winner of 21 golf tournaments has been elected for World Golf Hall of Fame for the year 2009.
Best known for his ultra competitive and fearless approach to golf game, Lanny has played 8 Ryder Cups and in the year of 1995 was selected as captain of US team.
His first PGA tour win was at Sahara invitations 1972, and then he got it again in the year of 1977 in PGA Championship held at Pebble Beach by beating Gene Littler of American in a playoff.
In his words, “I am pleased and honored to be a part of such a prestigious group, I never expected to get Hall of Fame when I started playing Golf, I played golf for the love of game”.
